Now is the time to act on dreams for the future
It is the most wonderful time of the year – a time when families and friends find opportunities to spend more time around the table.
This year, I encourage you to steer the conversation at your tables to a meaningful and thoughtful place. Think about your future. Ask yourself and those around you what they hope to accomplish in the next year, five or ten years. Go on a trip together to imagine and paint a picture of what the future might hold in store for you and dream big.
This year has certainly not been without challenges, and imagining the possibilities for our future can be a healing.
While you dream of the future, research the steps you can take to put your dreams into action. Without action, your vision of the future will remain a vision and not your reality. Author John Green says, “Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia… imagining that the future moves you forward, but you never do. You are simply using the future to escape the present.

What is happening in Eastland-Fairfield:The secret is that the school trains successful students
On December 2, Eastland-Fairfield hosted an open house for families of middle and high school students and interested adult learners to explore our facilities and programs. It is always a joy to introduce new faces to the dynamic and high-tech spaces that we have in our schools. Expert instructors each have a glow as they explain their classes and what their current and past students have accomplished.
It was a night where students of all ages were busy imagining their futures – describing themselves as industry leaders in everything from cybersecurity to cosmetology and from criminal justice to construction. As an educator and an English teacher at heart, watching students dream and create paths for their future is never tiresome. It is always an inspiration to be a witness.
We are accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year in our high school and adult programs. Our high school programs are no longer decided on the basis of the GPA as professional learning is an option for everyone.
Additionally, we offer free adult learner programs to graduate from high school or work on English language skills and financial assistance for our certificate and accredited adult programs. Ask for help or learn more about what Eastland-Fairfield can do for your dreams at eastlandfairfield.com.
