Lady Badgers overcomes a “flat” performance | News, Sports, Jobs
COLEMAN, Wis. –Niagara coach Carol St. Arnauld said her team was flat in their double game with Coleman on Tuesday. Nonetheless, the Badgers beat the host Cougars 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14 in the M&O Conference clash.
St. Arnauld pointed to one area in particular that was not up to standard.
“Our service reception was less than impressive” said Saint Arnauld. “We had a lot of volleyball last week and last weekend, and my girls showed fatigue. Although we didn’t reach our potential, my girls still pushed and took full control in the final set.
“Coleman hustled us and played us well” she added. “At the end of the day, a win is a win. I can’t wait to end the week with Crivitz at home (tonight) and have a long weekend to rest.
Morgan Borchardt led Niagara with 13 kills, nine assists and two blocks. Erin Lukowicz produced six kills, nine digs and three aces, while Emma Brasure recorded four assists, Raegan Frappier fired three aces and Mallory Sanicki recorded four blocks.
Defensively, Abby Wells led the Lady Badgers with 17 digs.
