Farmington Church to host benefit cruise in/car jump on July 31

FARMINGTON – An In/Car Hop Cruise is scheduled for 4pm on Sunday, July 31, featuring a fun afternoon/evening filled with music and food while watching classic cars and trucks at Fairbanks Union Church, 583 Fairbank Road.

According to a church press release, a truck division was added this year. Check-in times for cars and trucks are set between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to be eligible for prizes. The fee to enter a car or truck is $5. Trophies will be awarded in each division for the best of the show, with a prize of $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place, to be voted on by spectators on the cruise.

Two hours of music will fill the neighborhood with Gambol Creek and Farmington/Florida-based duo Jeff and Donna Wells, best known for their keyboard, guitar and vocal music.

A menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, root beer floats, Whoopie Pies and soda/water will be offered at reasonable prices. Meals will be cooked by church members, friends and deacons; picnic tables will be available.

The car hop is free to attend as a spectator. If it rains, the event is postponed to August 7. The show benefits the Deacons’ Mission and Outreach Fund.
