Experts suggest proposals to overcome climate change at international conference – Breaking News – The Nation
LAHORE – The second two-day International Environmental Conference and Exhibition organized by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) in collaboration with the World Bank ended in Lahore on Thursday. Zakia Shahnawaz, former Punjab Minister for Environment, attended the inaugural session of the conference while Rana Mashhood, former Punjab Minister for Education, attended the closing session. Mr. Chris, World Bank representative, experts from various fields, DG EPA, EPD Secretary Syed Mubasher Hussain and others were also present on the occasion. The aim of the conference was to present proposals to overcome climate change and increasing pollution and to reshape the business model. International and local environmental experts have put forward various proposals to promote sustainable development. The session was also attended by university professors and research students. Internationally renowned organizations such as SGS, Daewoo, Nestlé, UNICEF, IDAP,
TTI and many others set up booths in the exhibition. Environmental Protection Secretary Syed Mubashir Hussain briefed the participants on environmentally friendly techniques in industrial and commercial sectors and also highlighted various activities related to climate change. Conference participants also congratulated Secretary Syed Mubashir Hussain and his team for the success of the conference.
