Event raises over $ 6,000 to benefit Abraham House
TABERG – Ruth Jones, 61, from Taberg was admitted to Maison Abraham in January 2020 after a brief and unexpected battle with lung cancer.
While there, family members say, Jones realized that the house lacked the necessities she thought she needed, but did not have the resources to purchase. Always a person who has helped his community no matter what, one of Jones’s last wishes was for a benefit to be placed in his memory with all funds raised going directly to the Abraham house.
With the help of her best friend Karen Palmer, kids Anissa LaMonica and husband Pete, Josh Jones and partner Steve Aldrich, they did just that.
The event, held on Saturday September 11 at the Grape and Grog in Camden, garnered many community supporters, raising $ 6,367 to help Abraham House, which provides end-of-life care and comfort to people with terminal illnesses.
“The family would like to thank everyone for their support in making this event possible and especially thank Paul Case, Mike O’Hara and the Mossback Mule Band for donating their time to play, the Grape and Grog for donating. of the room, Terri Knight, Maryanne Snow, Chris Partridge, Kevin Uvanni Memorial Foundation, Chris Specht, DeMatteo Restaurant, Chris Houseman and Hal and Heather Closs, ”added the organizers.
