BLACKPINK Added Another Recognition To Their Credit With Their Hit Song BOOMBAYAH.

As part of BLACKPINK’s debut album, Square One, supergroup YG Entertainment included another hit song BOOMBAYAH to his song list. The band first released the song in August 2016 before officially promoting it on SBS’s Inkigayo. Produced by Teddy Park, the song immediately peaked at number 7 after its release and entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales charts in its first week.

Years after BLINKs first heard the song, more fans took to BOOMBAYAH looped and led him to a new stage.

This week, YG Entertainment officially announced that the single from the K-pop girl group has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify as of October 9.

The new record became the seventh song of BLACKPINK to ever take the leap. Before BOOMBAYAH, Kill this love, How do you like it, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Ice cream, Like it’s your last, and Jennie’s SOLO marked the glory.

Meanwhile, three of their singles will follow the songs and soon hit the same milestone.

At the time of writing, Play with fire, Mad girls of love, and Whistle currently has 200 million streams each.

Apart BOOMBAYAHrecord for, BLACKPINK currently holds the second most followed Korean artist on Spotify with 25.2 million followers. They are also ranked 30th internationally.

Apart from music, BLACKPINK also works as an ambassador for several advocacy and projects.

More recently, the group became the first Asian artist to become ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals. The United Nations named the supergroup through a Twitter message, confirming that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres personally greeted them.

BLACKPINK has joined a large number of high profile people who have raised awareness of the Global Goals.

Following the announcement, the K-pop girl group wrote an official statement to address the date.

“We are honored to join this journey to a better world.” Their agency YG Entertainment also revealed that BLACKPINK is the first Asian artist to be chosen as an SDG advocate by the organization. We truly believe in the importance of collective action. We can only make a difference if we come together, for the good of all. Now is the time to act for a safer future and a better future. “

BLACKPINK has joined three other SDG advocates: Microsoft President Brad Smith, STEM activist Chica Rosadita and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash.
