Atlanta Hawks to get extra days break
Atlanta Hawks’ game against Hornets is their most crucial at home
After the Atlanta Hawks suffered during the first part of the season with one of the toughest schedules in the NBA. Fortunately, they were able to put the struggles of a six-game losing streak behind them and dominated at home.
Their first game on this homestand was against the 2021 NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks. Thankfully the Bucks were without Khris Middleton but he probably wouldn’t have helped the Bucks win, such was the home team’s dominance.
The Hawks then had a back-to-back where they took on the damn Orlando Magic. The Hawks were more than up to the task and easily sent the franchise out of Florida. Then the Hawks took a first-half shooting masterclass from Kevin Huerter to deal with their clash against the Boston Celtics.
The Atlanta Hawks have a rare two-day break between games.
The Hawks have had four different back-to-back clashes already, including the one mentioned earlier in this article. They also had one where they played an away game and then returned home to play a home game the next night.
After the Celtics game, they got lucky and are enjoying two luxurious days off between games. Considering the difficulty they had, this is something they needed. The problem with the Hawks is that they have insignificant injuries.
De’Andre Hunter is out for eight weeks due to surgery on his right wrist. His heir apparent for the starting role, Kevin Huerter suffered a hamstring strain against the Orlando Magic and did not play the second half. On top of that, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been listed as questionable due to ankle pain in the last two games.
The extra day off gives these players the chance to rest more and heal themselves to improve their bodies. It also gives them a rare night off home to get out of the NBA routine. It can only be a good thing in a long season.
